Connect Spapilot box to your spa control board

 

Goal of this step
Help you find the correct port on your Balboa or Gecko control board and connect your Spapilot box safely.

Open the lid/cover so you can see the circuit board (Balboa or Gecko).

 

If you have a Balboa BP system

  • On the Balboa BP board, find the connector labelled “Wi‑Fi”, “AUX” or “EXPANSION” (the exact position depends on the model).
  • Use our installation guide/video to match your Balboa model with the correct highlighted port.
  • Gently plug the Spapilot cable into that port:
    • align the connector,
    • push it straight in until it is fully seated,
    • do not force it – it should click or fit firmly without bending.

If you have a Gecko system

  • On the Gecko YE‑series board, look for the connector labelled “COM-port”, “EXPANSION” or a similar communication port.
  • Use our installation guide/video to match your Gecko model with the correct highlighted port.
  • Plug the Spapilot cable into that port:
    • insert it straight,
    • make sure it is fully pushed in and sits firmly,
    • avoid bending the pins or the cable.

Zavepower is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, modification of the control box, or use that is not in line with our installation instructions and the spa manufacturer’s guidelines.

If you are unsure about opening the control box or connecting to the control board, you should always contact a qualified technician or your spa dealer.

You understand that any work inside the control box is done at your own risk, and

You are responsible for ensuring that the installation complies with local electrical and safety regulations.

We are not owned by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Balboa Water Group, Gecko Alliance, or any other spa control system manufacturer.
  • Spapilot only communicates with the existing control box through its official expansion / communication ports.
  • We do not modify, remove or replace any firmware, source code or safety logic inside Balboa, Gecko or other control systems.
  • All original safety functions and core control logic of the spa remain under the responsibility of the spa manufacturer and their system.
Under EU consumer law, your basic warranty and statutory rights towards the spa manufacturer / reseller still apply.
